Also at church, was the football team. I heard the talk about a team being formed and I thought it was an adult team but it is kids. And to be on the team, they are asked to attend church. I hear the team is pretty good as they won their last game.
This past Sunday was Reformation Sunday. I believe that all the churches in Haiti heard about Martin Luther, either in Sunday School or church. It has been 500 years since he nailed his 95 declarations to the church door. At Bwa Neuf, we heard the story in Sunday School. Pastor Jackson (assistant pastor) taught us. It was quite interesting and before we knew it we were half an hour into church time. (No, it didn't mean that the church service was shorter.) There were lots of questions.. Discussion is to continue next week.
Saturday, Oct 28, Cowman School had a fun day called Harvest Festival. Students and parents were invited. Lots of games and food! And don't forget about candy!!! Profit from the day is to go to the next phase of construction. The kids were encourage to dress up. Prizes were given in each grade. Some of us thought this little fellow should have receive something for his outfit. And so we felt as sorry as he is - or is he just too tired from all the activities of the day!
Our new missionary family, Rob and Lori McGhee will arrive on Nov 2. Not sure what all their ministry will be but some will be at Cowman School and Lori will get involved right away with an English class.
Vivian stayed here as the rest of her evangelism team returned to Quebec. (She and her husband have been here often in the last couple of years leading evangelism teams.) She will teach at Cowman School as one of the teachers has to be in the states for a month. It is always wonderful how God has workers lined up when needed. We also have another couple here for a month as God confirms what He has in mind for them
