Urban Ministry - Colombia
The Latin America region has a vision to transform lives in dynamic communities. You'll serve in your area of focus while being part of localized summer ministry experiences. You'll also be poured into by a team of missionaries as you learn more about your gifts and passions. Our hope for this experience is that you will grow in your relationship with God, expand your skill set, be more prepared to disciple people from other cultures, and perhaps discern a long-term call to missions and ministry.
You will work together as a team in Medellín, Colombia, to serve alongside OMS ministry partners including Prison Fellowship, an international seminary, and a potential short-term mission team that visits from the US and Canada. Your involvement will include but is not limited to, helping facilitate a dynamic and engaging English camp for high school and university students, visiting prisons and families of prisoners, sharing Bible stories and activities with at-risk children impacted by poverty and/or incarceration, and engaging in dynamic, recreational activities that include evangelism and discipleship, field trips within the city, educational support, and more.

Responsibilities:
- Develop programming to improve evangelistic activities.
- Participate in day camps, local events, and sports ministries.
- Minister to youth in a juvenile detention center.
Skills:
- High School diploma required
- Some college preferred.
- Comfort sharing and talking with others.
- Able to relax and have fun in varied environments.
- Creativity
- Interest in working with children and youth.
- Basic Spanish ability required, Intermediate preferred
Other Information:
- You will be serving from early June to early August.
- You will live in Medellin, Colombia at a local seminary and with local believers.
- Cost will be approx $3,600 USD (Plus the flight).
- This is a volunteer internship that requires raising financial support through ministry partners.
During your time with Embark, you will serve with One Mission Society, build relationships with youth and young adults, receive mentorship from experienced missionaries, work alongside a team of other like-minded OMS interns, expand and hone your skill set, and grow in your ministry approach to evangelism, discipleship, missions and communicating your testimony.
