Disaster Relief Cuba
Our partner in Cuba reports that Hurricane Ian has hit the province of Pinar del Río as a category 3 storm. Numerous reports indicate the eye remained over the are for 90 minutes. Floods, houses without roofs, where its inhabitants lost most of their material goods due to rain or penetration of the sea together with the hurricane's winds of more than 200km/h. Currently some of the most damaged areas are without electricity, without drinking water, material goods that were not lost are wet or in terrible condition. This is the situation of a large part of the people who live in the provinces of Pinar del Rio and Mayabeque. We will be transferring funds to help with the purchase of items to meet the immediate needs of these folk. Spending of funds raised by One Mission Society is confined to programs approved by the organization. Each restricted contribution designated toward such an approved program or project will be used as designated with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason determined by One Mission Society, the remaining contributions will be used by One Mission Society where the need is greatest.
